The Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation (CVEDC) will hold its 40th Anniversary Gala on Tuesday, October 25th , at the Capitol Plaza from 5:00-7:45PM. This year’s event will celebrate our past and honor the business leaders and companies that have made this region a vibrant economic leader in Vermont.
“CVEDC has played a significant role in support of our regional businesses for four decades. In that time we have seen entrepreneurs grow small ideas into international industry icons. We have helped communities plan for their future, and recover from natural disasters. At the Gala we want to take this opportunity to recognize a number of our local businesses for the important contributions they make to the health and quality of this region.”
The evening celebration will begin with a networking opportunity from 5:00-5:45PM, which will include a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, and music.
Following dinner and the official business of the organization, CVEDC will present numerous awards including the first annual Member of the Year Award, which will be presented to National Life Group of Montpelier. National Life is one of Central Vermont’s largest employers, providing high wage jobs in a supportive environment. They have been a true asset to the Central Vermont community since they incorporated in 1848, donating countless hours and significant financial support to groups and organizations throughout the region. They truly have been a model of positive corporate culture.
Also being honored at the Gala are Filabot of Barre for the Small Business of the Year Award, American Flatbread of Waitsfield for the Leo C. Laferriere Community Service Award, Darn Tough Vermont of Northfield for the Director’s Award, and the President’s Award will go to Thom Lauzon of Barre for his numerous economic contributions in service to his community.
CVEDC is one of 12 non-profit regional development corporations in the State of Vermont with a principle mission of supporting the retention and creation of quality jobs for working Vermonters.
